Rainbow-Colored Lizard

We had Max all this week during spring break. He has so much energy, it seems unreal. I don't remember my boys climbing all over me the way Max does, and he does it with ease. Note to self: I need to remember to add to my resume: rock wall. We took him home Friday (yesterday) morning. After recouping yesterday evening by veg'ing out and watching a chick flick, I woke up today with an ache in my heart....I miss Max and his squeaky voice.  He is normally calling for me to come play with him or calling grampa to catch lizards outside or to look at the deer. This morning he'd say that the (free-roaming) chickens are no where to be found. He called me on the phone just a few minutes ago, with his daddy's help, to ask me if I had seen any lizards this morning. He told me that if I did catch one to remember that if I put a green leaf up against him that he would turn green, and to be careful not to put my finger near its mouth because it would bite me. We talked about all of the color possibilities for this lizard....if we put it on something red he'd turn red, orange orange, blue blue. I asked him about a rainbow.....he told me he loved rainbows, and when I asked if the lizard would turn a rainbow color if we put it on a rainbow, he asked why it would do that. That possibility seemed a little hard for him to imagine, but in the end he agreed it would be "cool".

Jesus, thank you for this week that was filled with love, fun, laughing, squeaky voices, and lots of hugs and kisses. It's a week I will never forget.
